Certified AKC Evaluator & Instructor
The AKC CGC program was started in 1989 and was designed to reward dogs who have good manners in the community and at home. All dogs are able to participate in the AKC CGC program.
We offer testing for the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program, CGC, CGCA, CGCU, Trick Dog and Virtual Home Manners. There is no maximum age limit and all purebreds and mixed breeds are welcome to take any of the tests.
-To earn the CGCA title, the dog must be registered with AKC (AKC number, PAL, or AKC Canine Partners number). The dog must also have a CGC award/title on record, as well as pass all 10 test items.
-To earn the AKC Urban CGC (CGCU), dogs must meet the following two requirements. The dog must already have a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certificate or title on record at AKC. The dog must also have an AKC number of one of 3 types (AKC registration number, Purebred Alternative Listing (PAL) number, or AKC Canine Partners number).
All dogs, including mixed breeds, can get an AKC number.
We offer the AKC CGC tests and Trick Dog tests at $20/each, and the Virtual Home Manners for $15. Please check the schedule for our upcoming test dates, or contact us to set up a time to schedule your testing.
PASSING THE CANINE GOOD CITIZEN TESTS DOES NOT MAKE A DOG A SERVICE DOG, THERAPY DOG OR EMOTIONAL SUPPORT DOG.
